Tetine VS Sophia Calle – Samba De Monalisa
Having worked on a project with which Tetine were involved, I can’t help but feel slightly biased in my comments. However, I have had this record on incessantly since I got my mitts on it. The album is extremely addictive, particularly on the first concentrated listen when you are pinned down and allowed to swallow the voluptuous sounds of Sophie Calle’s voice as she narrates a mad adventure across America. While you are being pinned down by Sophie, Tetine tie you up with smooth electronic bleeps and keys that convey a luscious electronic soundscape to the recording that is most contradictory to their otherwise self proclaimed 'Tropical Punk'. A lovely listen.
